A new found love for ROY G BIV

Last night as we were driving home....Lance and I were talking about where we were and thinking about the future of our family. I looked up at the beautiful sky and saw the most beautiful and complete rainbow I've ever seen. The entire sky, because of the sun set, was ROY G BIV (R-red, O-orange, Y-yellow, G-green, B-blue, I-Indigo, V-violet). I was immediately reminded of the story of Noah....and how God used the rainbow to remind us of his promise to never flood the earth again.

The thing that struck me the most about this was just as we were talking future and planning and thinking through where we currently are in life, God reminded me that He always keeps His promises. I have to be honest, during this transition, my flesh has been worried about what the future holds....but yesterday God brought me back to Matt 6:32 "Why be like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and he will give you all you need from day to day if you life for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern."

For those who know me, I eat, sleep, breath, and live for God. My life's passion is to see people come into a meaningful and intimate relationship with Jesus. Whether it be kids, teens, or adults fulfilling the great commission is my mission. For those of you who don't know me, now you do. My passion to reach people is both creative and imaginative. I currently work with an audience that thrives off of engaging communication, that is finite in their thinking, that has a hard time when you say, "Jesus wants to come and live in your heart." They think...."Wow, how is he gonna get in there." Not only are they my audience, but equipping those who love them the most are the ones that I'm really passionate about. Parents, it's our influence, combined with the church that makes a great impact on our kids lives spiritually. It's not solely the churches responsibility to teach your kids about who Jesus Christ is.....

So my new found love for ROY G BIV is: Relying On You God, Brings Instant Victory!!

Thank you Lord for being victorious in my life. Thank you for knowing in advance what I need and then meeting that need. My life is yours, I live for you. May everything I say and do, be founded by my faith in you, I life up Holy hands and sing!!! LET THE PRAISES RING!!!

New Journey: Day 2

It's not about dieting for me. Dieting in the sense most of us understand. Eating only meat, or not eating anything white, etc..... for me, getting my "diet" [the lifestyle you choose in terms of the food you eat, how you prep them, when u eat them, and how you combine them.] in order is what I'm going to work hard at doing.

As I enter day 2 I'm feeling confident that with the help of God, I can make it through this journey, but I can only do it with the greatest one of all. Lord, You are the greatest of all. Nothing is beyond Your power & will.

I think the mountain that I'm going to need God's strength to overcome, is learning to accept the way God made me without accepting the idea that I have to be overweight.

As the TTM book states the first thing to do is change a habit, one at a time. Today, the habit change is to increase my water intake. While water has no nutritional value, it is the most important "food" for your body. What are the benefits of drinking water: Aids in fat metabolism, Helps concentration, Gives proper muscle tone, Improves mood, Regulates blood pressure, Decreases water retention.

So today, I am challenged to get 4-6 16oz bottles of water in today. One down....

"What is impossible for me, is possible for GOD!!"
(Luke 18:27 paraphrased, used ME for MEN)

A new journey to transformation....

This is a new year and typically resolutions are set. This year, however, I've chosen to set God-given goals to bring about change and transformation in my life. A transformation that included my mind, body, and spirit that will bring me closer to becoming the person God knows that I can be.

Today I choose to step out in faith: "...being a child of God enables you to take that first step of faith, even if you don't know where it will lead. Like a child learning to walk, those first baby steps might be hard, but have faith! The destination is worth it. - Dr. Gregory Yants, Total Temple Makeover" The destination is the important thing, not the speed.

Today I choose to take care of today only. I choose to take this journey one forward step at a time.....knowing that I'm not alone because God is right here with me.

"I can do everything through him who gives me strength." (Phil 4:13)
