Anyone for a DIVE?

About a month ago I had one of my early morning conversations with God. This conversation was about the leadership of the Children's Ministry at Barefoot. He really spoke to me about where the leadership team is now and where it can be.

First he gave me a name that clearly defines our roles as leaders, I am a SCUBA DIVER (work with me). Someone who is into

S- Serving
C-Children
U-Under
B-Biblical
A-Authority

D-Develop
I-Intimate
V-Valuable
E-Everlasting
R-Relationships

Here's how God really laid it out for me to help me understand a little better. Right now in Children's Ministry we are functioning more as Snorkelers. When you snorkel it is mostly on the surface. God wants us to take things to the next level. He wants us to go deeper. That means we need to become trained SCUBA DIVERs. God wants us to see things and experience things that most people don't get to experience....and that is children making the decision to ask Jesus into their lives. This is a huge responsibility. But we also need see that it should be treasured and honored for the amazing opportunity we have to be a part of it.

God has some amazing things in store for IslandJAM Children's Ministry. Many say that 2007 is the year of completion. We are completing one chapter in the IJ book. I look forward to 2008 which is the year of New Beginnings and what is in store for IJ.
